Italian Media Frenzy Leaves UK Cosmetic Surgery Ambassador’s Website in Meltdown

The newly-launched website of a woman who has had more than £100,000-worth of cosmetic surgery has received more than 20,000 visitors and more than 450 personal emails - including seven offers of marriage! – all from Italy in just two days.

The visits to www.reallifebarbie.com followed an unprecedented level of media interest in Italy.

And 46-year-old mother-of-three Sarah Burge from St. Neots in Cambridgeshire in the UK – referred to as The Real Life Barbie in the UK media - is now recruiting a top Italian celebrity agent to help meet the demand for her story from across the Mediterranean.

Sarah, who is currently recovering from a further £15,000-worth of cosmetic surgery, has been stunned by the response.

Sarah said,

“I’m completely amaz
ed. To get so many complimentary emails is very flattering. But to get them all from Italy was incredible. There were many emails from women too who have approached me for advice about their own cosmetic procedures. And I’m happy to help out where I can.”

Sarah’s story was featured in a UK national Sunday magazine before being picked up by the Italian News Agency ANSA. From there her story and website was featured online in several high profile Italian weblogs and discussion forums, further fuelling the number of visitors to her website and the clamour for Italian-interest in her story.

Previously in the UK, Sarah’s recent controversial appearances on GMTV and Channel 5 alerted a host of agents to approach her about more TV work. And celebrity agent David Hahn from Celeb Agents is already in advanced negotiations with TV production companies after being cherry picked to mastermind Sarah’s burgeoning media career.

Sarah now hopes to visit Italy and meet some of the people who have taken such an interest in her story.

Sarah adds,

“I want to visit Italy soon. I’m especially curious to understand why Italy in particular has shown such an intense interest in my story. Although whatever the reason, I’m hugely grateful for the attention.

“It would be wonderful to talk to more Italians about my experiences. I want to spread the word that it’s OK to celebrate the achievements of people who are determined enough to take this level of care over their appearance.”

Sarah is now recuperating from surgery and wading through the emails in the hope she can respond to as many as possible. She is talking to merchandisers about a new range of posters and signed pictures to meet demand.
